Australian cultural icon is given pride of place here in an advertisement for Foster’s Lager by artist James Northfield. Once considered Carlton & United Breweries’ (CUB) premium brand, Foster’s Lager is depicted in this poster in its original bottle form: a far cry from the shimmering blue and gold cans we see it in today.
This poster illustrates Foster’s as the aspirational beverage of choice for successful men. It shows two gents in a fancy car who stop for a refreshing lager while cruising leisurely through the Australian countryside. How things have changed!
