NEWSFLASH!

Printism's Melbourne vintage retro poster spotted on
Channel 9s 'The Block'.

Never fear Sydneysiders!

We've got you covered too
with this brilliant design.

This striking Australian art print designed by James Northfield, depicts Melbourne's CBD in the
1940s. Using a powerful geometric grid, bisected by the iconic Yarra River, the designer portrays the dual character of Melbourne as a modern business hub and the lush 'Garden Capital' of Victoria.

Available in a huge range of sizes as Melbourne art canvas, paper art print or framed, all our prints are the official versions recognised by the James Northfield Heritage Art Trust. Beware of cheap imported copies of these designs. For over ten years, the Northfield Trust have relied upon us to offer stringent autheticity to the original poster designs, as well as the best quality materials and colour fidelity in the market.

In the 30s and 40s, Melbourne boasted a thriving business centre as well as some of the best public gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. Northfield chooses an highly unusual vantage point, well above the city's tallest building, to show off these features. At a time when Melbourne aspired to be Australia's most sophisticated 'European Style' city, this bird's-eye view of the CBD and surrounds captures the city in a unique and appropriate display of European Modernist geometry.
